Based on the teams evaluations, supported by knowledge
of Penns
needs and the products currently available in the marketplace, the Advancement
Team recommends a solution comprising the following major elements:
Implement a solution for gifts, biographic/demographic information, and campaign/ proposal/ prospect management based on PeopleSofts Contributor Relations.
Implement a three-tier reporting environment for development and gift data built on the infrastructure provided by the universitys Data Warehouse.
Implement an early data quality and validation initiative based on products from First Logic, Inc.
For the immediate future, continue Penns business relationship with Harris Publishing for the Penn alumni online community, and online events registration. Evaluate additional features to the current online community service through the installed base SLA process. Reevaluate the alternatives and recommend a long-term online community solution once the PeopleSoft infrastructure is in place.
Close the remaining critical gaps through a coordinated program of vendor engagement, judiciously applied software extensions, and business process modifications.
Implement solutions for Document Management, Membership Management, Event Management, and Telemarketing, but defer the final selection of products and approaches until the core PeopleSoft infrastructure is in place.
Contract with PeopleSoft for installation, team training, and support services.
Contract with Crestone to provide application and technical expertise and knowledge transfer for the implementation.
The project team recommends a phased approach with major deliverables rolled out every six to nine months over a four-year period.
