January Program and Dessert

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

The Association of Alumnae was pleased to welcome Rachel Conrad, C’08, recipient of our 2007 Association of Alumnae Rosemary D. Mazzatenta Scholars Award, to our January 22nd meeting. She joined us to share her unique academic pursuits for which she used her monetary award: a study following patients being treated for AIDS in Botswana. We were fortunate to also welcome Cheryl Shipman, Research Coordinator, Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF), who discussed the services and opportunities offered by CURF. Penn sophomore and junior women, and all Penn alumnae, were invited for dessert and to the evening’s program.

The Association of Alumnae of the University of Pennsylvania has established the Association of Alumnae Rosemary D. Mazzatenta Scholars Award in the School of Arts and Sciences to recognize female members of the sophomore or junior class in the College for academic achievement and demonstrated service to country, community, and family. This award is intended to be used by the recipient for expenses incurred for a scholarly purpose related to her education, including, but not limited to, equipment, research, travel expenses, or an unpaid internship.
