Promoting Social Justice: Intergenerational Conversations on Racism
G-17, Logan Hall
Four decades after the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, racism continues
to be one of the most compelling, provocative, and divisive issues facing our
nation. Featuring an interdisciplinary panel of former and current Penn faculty,
alumni, and students, this interactive and stimulating examination of racism
will reveal ways to combat racism and promote social justice. The program will
also illustrate the unique and powerful role that Penn School of Social Work
- the first graduate school of social work in the country to organize its curriculum
around the construct of institutional racism - has played in working toward
understanding and fighting racism, and the implications for the future. This
half-day conference offers CE credits for licensed social workers. To register,
call 215-573-2648. For more information, visit www.ssw.upenn.edu.
