About BAS
The Black Alumni Society (BAS) founded in 1982, with regional chapters in Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, DC, encourages communication and cooperation among black alumni, black students, and the University community.

Purpose
To develop and maintain programs which facilitate and encourage communication and cooperation among University of Pennsylvania Black Alumni.

To facilitate communication and cooperation between Black Students, the University Administration and the global Penn Community.

To initiate and support fund raising projects that have targeted impact upon Black Students, Alumni and Faculty.

To represent the interests and issues of Black Alumni in the conversations that affect the current and future directions and conditions involving the University Community.
