The Women's Walkway and Class of '49 Generational Bridge, a renovation of the Class of '49 Bridge (at 38th Street), was unveiled during the 125 Years of Women at Penn celebration.
Donors are invited to designate stone "pavers" that can be inscribed with the name and class of any Penn alumna, connecting with others to form a gracefully curving walkway leading to the newly restored Class of '49 Generational Bridge. When completed, this unique path will serve as an enduring tribute to Penn alumnae and our many contributions to the University's history. The Class of '49 Generational Bridge Donors are invited to designate stone pavers, light rods, and vine columns that can be inscribed with the names of Penn alumni women and men who represent a family's proud Penn legacy. Just as the bridge over 38th Street connects the historic part of campus to the emerging Hamilton Village, the Class of '49 Generational Bridge will connect one generation of Penn families to the next, representing Penn's legacy its ties to the past and its hopes for the future.
