LAUNCHING A LEGACY
Our 30th reunion is a time to remember our Penn experience and the opportunities it afforded us. We have set the ambitious goal of raising a total of $2,500,000 from 750 classmates to ensure that the University will continue to provide these opportunities to the next generation of Penn alumni. Our class gifts – to be divided between our class project and The Penn Fund – as well as gifts of individual scholarships will directly benefit current and future Penn students.
Class Project: $500,000
Our 30th reunion project will raise $400,000 for The Class of 1979 Scholarship Fund dedicated to funding the undergraduate education of talented Penn students with financial need. It will also contribute $100,000 to The Daily Pennsylvanian Digitization Project – an ambitious project that will digitize the entire print run of the DP from 1885 to the present, the Pennsylvania News (1924-1962), and 34th St. (1969 - present). Once completed, Penn's rich history, through the DP, will be accessible virtually to current students, alumni, and friends.
Unrestricted Support of The Penn Fund: $500,000
The Penn Fund will put $500,000 of our class gifts to work immediately supporting student aid, campus improvements, classroom technology, student life activities and much more.
Individual Scholarships: 10
In addition to class giving, we are counting on at least ten classmates to each endow an individual scholarship or add to an existing individual scholarship to support the financial need of Penn undergraduate students.
