Hi everyone!

Welcome to the inaugural on-line newsletter for the Class of 1995. Since most of us spend a significant amount of time on the Internet, we have decided to publish our newsletter here – on our class website. From this site, you can update your contact information, join the On-Line Community, find other classmates, or submit a newsnote to be published in the next newsletter. We would like to start a tradition of effort and enthusiasm in creating a newsletter that engages our class and updates you about classmates and our alma mater.

Through the difficulties of 2001, our connection to each other and to Penn has grown stronger and more important. Now, more than ever, Penn is family, and our allegiance to each other is crucial. Penn was the first place many of us turned when the news of 9/11 struck and unfortunately we learned about the tragic loss of our classmate and friend Garth Feeney. It’s difficult to stay in touch with everyone the way that we did when our only responsibilities were classes, practice, and sink or swim. Newsletters are just one way for us to all keep in touch and feel connected to one another in a time when life is just a bit crazier.

We want to encourage any and all classmates to take an active role in our class newsletter. If you or a classmate you know has recently done something exciting, traveled, or just has some terrific news to share, please let us know! We know you all enjoy reading about your friends—and they would love to read about you! Please submit a news note about yourself, what you’ve been up to, or how this past year may have affected you. Our goal is to promote communication among classmates by personalizing the newsletters and generating enthusiasm in future class programming (we’re already halfway between our 5th and 10th year reunion!).

Finally, if you haven’t been back to Penn lately, why not return for Homecoming in November? This year Penn will play Brown on November 2nd. Please be sure not to miss one of the most exciting weekends for a Penn graduate! For any additional information, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (215) 898-7811 or alumni@ben.dev.upenn.edu.

Best regards,

Loren Mendell
