Seniors —
These final days of being no more than 8 minutes away from our best friends at any given moment or being within eyesight of the locations of our most unforgettable memories will soon end. We must now spend our final semester at Penn cherishing what we still have: our friends, our institution, and our way of life. There’s just so much to be excited about in the immediate future that you may forget, even if just for a moment, that it is slipping away. The last time that you rock out to Mask and Wig at the conclusion of Spring Fling or storm the court as Penn Basketball clinches another Ivy League title promises to be the very best time. There are still hundreds of student performances to attend, a variety of activities to become involved in, and a number of personal goals to set and achieve. Whether it be on weekdays or weekends, there is plenty of time to go Mad-4-Mex and Sink-or-Swim. Together, through amazing senior class traditions like Feb Club, Ivy Day, Walnut Walk and Senior Week, and great class wide initiatives like the Senior Class Gift Drive, we will deepen our connection to both Penn and to each other. At the extreme risk of coming across as way over-the-top, I propose the following. The sun is setting on our undergraduate experience, and morning will soon bring about a blinding light which is the brightness of our future. Tonight though, we’ve got to commit ourselves to pulling one last all-nighter that spans all semester. Every last minute at Penn with our class must count; sunrise is coming and our future awaits. So live up the twilight zone that is second semester senior year because, after all, the best things in life usually happen after dark… See you out there, |
