Did You Know…that Penn undergraduate and graduate students taking the Annenberg and Fels class, “Communications 428: Conventions, Debates, and Campaigns” will be attending the Republican and Democratic National Conventions? The class provides students with the opportunity to learn how political parties get the message out to the public via an on-site analysis of the two major party conventions. The class is taught by David Eisenhower, director of the Institute for Public Service at the Annenberg School for Communication, and Marjorie Margolies, CW’63, a Senior Fellow in the Fels Institute of Government at Penn. The students will also provide on-the-scene reports of the conventions for The Philadelphia Daily News. This year also marks the fourth time Penn students will attend the political conventions as a part of a class geared specifically to these events.
