Did You Know... that Wednesday, September 6th is the first day of classes for the fall semester? During New Student Orientation, which starts next week, incoming freshman will get a briefing on "Penn Traditions." The Alumni Office has designed a session called "Highball to Hey Day: The Penn Experience" -- an entertaining look at Penn's illustrious past, revered traditions, and the role current students play in shaping Penn's exciting future through an interactive, multimedia presentation featuring Ron Daniels, University Provost, and Mark Frazier Lloyd, Director of University Archives and Records Center. Did You Know... that Wharton Junior John (Jack) C. Hotz III won the 2006 White Marlin Open, held last week in Ocean City, MD? Hotz, of Shamong, NJ, caught an 82 lb. white marlin to take home the top prize of over $1,500,000! He fished with his family on the family boat, True Grit.
