Did you know... Walter Licht has been named to the Walter H. Annenberg Professorship in History as of July 1? The announcement was made by the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Rebecca Bushnell, who said: "This appointment recognizes Walter's distinguished and wide-ranging achievements: his highly-regarded scholarship on labor and economic history, his award-winning teaching, and his exemplary citizenship over the many years that he has served in a long list of leadership roles across Penn."

Did You Know… that WXPN is going national? The Penn-owned radio station recently announced that it is taking its eclectic musical vision to the world of television. PBS began broadcasting a new show in May of 2007, “On Stage At World Cafe Live,” featuring live performances recorded at University City’s World Cafe Live concert venue. Read more here.
On July 29 the show will review the best episodes of the season.

Did You Know... that the University of Pennsylvania has named a new dean for the Wharton School? Thomas S. Robertson, executive faculty director of the Institute for Developing Nations at Emory University and former dean of Emory's Goizueta Business School, has been named the new dean of the Wharton School of Business effective August 1. Robertson is not new to Penn. He was a faculty member at Wharton from 1971 to 1994 where he was the Pomerantz Professor of Marketing and chair of the Marketing Department. According to President Gutmann, "His deep knowledge of Wharton and extensive experience with business-school leadership make him the ideal candidate."
