Dear
Penn Alumni,
At Penn, there's "always something to write
home about," and we begin this year with our new identityPenn
Alumni. The change from UPAS (University of Pennsylvania Alumni
Society) to Penn Alumni expresses a simple principle, that every
graduate of Penn is a member of the alumni commuty.
As a member of Penn Alumni, you can enjoy a vast
array of services and opportunities, many of them noted in this
guide. One thing is clearas our lives continue to evolve,
there are more and more reasons to benefit from our connection
to Penn. Of course, Penn is evolving, too, and Homecoming is an
ideal time to celebrate our momentum. This year, you can explore
our newest undergraduate learning hub, Weiss Tech House... share
in the alumnae presentation of a sculpture
honoring 125 Years of Women at Penn... and see for yourself
the tremendous changes to campus by attending a host of receptions
and celebrations.
We hope you will enjoy this year's special Penn
in Print programs. This is a chance to meet Penn authors as
they discuss their latest books on subjects ranging from the scholarly
to the literary to the culinary. Other Homecoming highlights include
the home
game on Franklin Field, where the Penn Quakers will take on
the Princeton Tigers, and the Alumni
Award of Merit Gala, where we pay tribute to the volunteers
who make Penn even greater. There are also lectures, tours, demonstrations,
receptions, brunches, and reunions... and that's before kickoff!
At Homecoming and throughout the year, we invite
you to take advantage of the University as a source of continuing
education, friendships, and networking opportunities. Our University
is truly a place to write home about... and home means usPenn
Alumnithe foundation of all that is special about Penn.
Sincerely,
 |
