The Chinese Rotunda is the majestic setting of the Penn Museum's Chinese collection. Ninety feet in diameter and soaring 90-feet high, the rotunda is one of the largest unsupported masonry domes in the United States, housing one of the finest collections of monumental Chinese art in the country. The Chinese collection, in large part, comprises donated and purchased art, rather than pieces acquired through Museum expeditions. Statuary of various materials, murals, paintings on silk, jades, bronzes, and ceramics are showcased.

"The Trojan War - Myth or Fact: Recent Excavations at Troy" lecture will be presented by Dr. C. Brian Rose, James B. Pritchard Professor of Mediterranean Archaeology in the Department of Classical Studies, Curator-in-Charge of the Mediterranean Section, Deputy Director, and Chief Curator of Penn Museum. Following a one-hour lecture and question and answer session, Dr. Rose will lead attendees on a tour of the Museum's Mediterranean and Mesopotamian Galleries, including 4,500-year-old gold jewelry from Troy.
