Special Initiatives

The Penn Fund immediately directs gifts from alumni to four priority areas that most impact the quality of learning and life for all undergraduate students at Penn: student financial aid, residential experience, student life and academic support, and special University initiatives.

As technology becomes a crucial part of University life and education, the special initiatives required to make these advances possible are just as important. Penn’s continuing technology upgrade program is allowing for the installment of new computers, audio-visual systems, wireless internet, and telecommunications equipment – all through support from The Penn Fund. Innovative academic projects, such as the Penn Reading Project held during New Student Orientation, are also supported by The Penn Fund.

A total of 9% of Penn Fund dollars directly and immediately support special initiatives at Penn.
