Who Are Our Members?
Membership in PennGALA is open to all University of Pennsylvania alumni. All lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender alumni are automatically members, as are alumni who were members of a recognized LGBT Center-affiliated organization during their time as students. However, we know that only a fraction of our true membership appears on our member rolls; the rest have not yet sent us their information (including a way to reach them). Many alumni may come out after leaving the University, meaning that they were not automatically placed on our membership list upon graduation. We very much want to find them!
Even so, PennGALA already counts about 1,500 regular members, making it one of the largest LGBT alumni organizations associated with any American college or university. If you are not yet known to us, we hope you'll get in touch.You may use the link below to join us.
Alumni who are not lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender and wish to join PennGALA may apply to the PennGALA Secretary, and will be considered by the Steering Committee on a case-by-case basis.
