Research
We Learn from the Unexpected
Monotony and sameness do not stimulate the brain. What does? The surprise occurrence. A recent Penn study finds that the brain is more likely to learn when the unexpected happens.
Turning Robots Human
At Penn Engineering, you might find researcher Dan
Lee teaching robotic dogs to play soccer. Or programming a
car to navigate without a driver. Whatever the scenario, Lee's research strives
to teach robots to think and act like humans.
