Penn Alumni Standing Committees

Executive Committee

Executive Committee The Executive Committee shall consist of the current Officers, the President of the Alumni Class Leadership Council and no more than three (3) additional Board members. The Executive Committee may operate with the full power of the Board between Board meetings; however, its actions cannot amend the By-Laws. Decisions of the Executive Committee may be brought to the Board for reconsideration upon the request of no less than six (6) Board members not serving on the Executive Committee. The President shall serve as the chairperson of the Executive Committee.

Awards and Resolutions Committee

The Awards and Resolutions Committee shall consist of a former recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit and/or the Young Alumni Award. The purposes of the Awards and Resolutions Committee are to consider nominees and recommend candidates to the Board for the Alumni Award of Merit, Young Alumni Award, Student Award of Merit and Penn Alumni Commendations and to oversee the preparation of awards, commendations and official resolutions of the Association.

Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee shall consist of no more than eight (8) individuals who are current or former Alumni Trustees. No more than five (5) such individuals shall have served on the committee the previous year. The purposes of the Nominations Committee are to: (a) consider nominees and recommend candidates to the Board to serve as Alumni Trustees; and (b) recommend candidates to the Board to serve as Officers. The President shall serve as the chairperson of the Nominations Committee.

Alumni Programming Committee

Alumni Programming Committee The purpose of the Alumni Programming Committee is to assist the University’s Office of Alumni Relations in developing, branding, and marketing programming for alumni, including social, educational, and professional development activities held on campus, off-campus, and online.

Benchmarking Committee

This Benchmarking Committee has as its mission to actively gather information from Penn sources and peer institutions that leads Penn Alumni and the Office of Alumni Relations to actions that enhance the alumni network. This Committee works closely with the Penn Alumni Relations Office and Penn Alumni leadership to identify information that could be useful in setting priorities and the best way to gather the information.

Regional Clubs Advisory Board

The purpose of this Board is to work closely with the University's Office of Alumni Relations to support and develop regional and international alumni clubs around the world, to provide a platform for club leaders to speak about issues in their regions and share ideas on programming and events with all alumni clubs.

Multicultural Outreach Committee

The Multicultural Outreach Committee shall consist of alumni representing the constituencies served by the Penn Alumni Diversity Alliance member organizations. Members will include one representative from each Diversity Alliance organization, and additional members to be nominated by the Director of Multicultural Outreach. The purpose of the committee is to generate ideas for and help to bring about programs and activities to strengthen diverse alumni connections to one another, to the greater alumni body, and to the University of Pennsylvania at large.

The Pennsylvania Gazette Committee

This committee shall consist of media professionals who make available their collective expertise on magazine publishing in all formats to the Editor of the Gazette. Members will be nominated by the Editor, with approval of the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations (Publisher of the Gazette) and the President of Penn Alumni, each of whom will be ex officio members of the Committee.
