This exciting series brings alumni together with faculty to learn through shared, often behind-the-scenes, experiences. At each event, faculty members will participate with alumni, facilitate learning and reflection, and offer short talks on related topics as an academic complement to the activity.

Enjoy a private tour of the special exhibition Rebel, Jester, Mystic, Poet: Contemporary Persians – The Mohammed Afkhami Collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) with Alison de Lima Greene, Modern and Contemporary Art Curator at the MFAH. The exhibit is drawn from the collection of financier and philanthropist Mohammed Afkhami, a Penn alumnus. The show illuminates the many histories and identities of Iranians today and sheds light on the rich heritage of the Iranian people during a period of social and political unrest. After a short tour, join Penn Professor Paul M. Cobb, of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, for a discussion about the exhibit and how it can be placed in a larger historical context. Food and drink will be served throughout.
