12-1 PM: 50+ Lunch & Learn -- Leonard Davis Institute Panel Discussion
For the 50th Reunion (Class of 1968) and Old Guard Classes (Class of 1967-1946)

The world renowned Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (LDI) was founded at Penn in 1967. LDI's inspired blending of Wharton and Penn Medicine disciples has kept it in the top echelon of health care innovation research for half a century.

Movies - Then and Now - A Conversation about the Films of 1968-2018

Starring acclaimed Film Producer Robert Cort, C'68 and Peter Decherney, Professor of Cinema Studies and English at the University of Pennsylvania and the author of Hollywood and the Culture Elite: How the Movies Became American. Robert Cort asks “Did the movie ‘The Graduate fulfill its promise? Do you remember when every Saturday night was movie night? We remember! Please, tell us more.....

4:30-5:30 PM: 1968 Campus Tour
Join Class President Alex Conroy on the 1968 Golf Cart Tour. Golf carts can be reserved. Some of us will walk.

6:00 PM-8:00 PM- 50th Reunion Welcome Cocktail Reception
Chaired by Barbara Russo Bravo, Mia Argentieri and Jack Goldenberg, featuring Catering By Design's Philadelphia menu - great Phlly food and an open bar. 1968 will debut the 1968 Video Project, chaired by Rich Sabreen and Class Archivist Susan Croll, and team Janet Oberlander Simons and Carolyn Marcus Jacobs.

After 7 PM: Check in with Classmates at the Welcome Reception and then, time for private dinner with friends.

8:00 PM-Midnight: Taste of Penn Spectrum at FranklinFest
After the Welcome Party, join alumni of all classes in the heart of campus for Taste of Penn Spectrum, featuring food and wine, student and alumni performances.

Saturday, May 12th


8:30-10:30 AM: The Professors Forum: A Reunion
A panel and conversation featuring some of the 1968's favorite Faculty members. Enjoy Professors perspectives on the Students of 1968. Welcome back many living legends of 1964-1968. Coffee, hot chocolate and bagels served at 8:30 AM. Now you can ask the Questions! Coordinated by Classmate Lee Gordon.

9-10:30 AM: Penn Athletics Recognition Breakfast
Chaired by Bill Creeden and Carolyn Marcus Jacobs. Honoring the 1968 Penn Crew Team who were USA National Champions in 1967 and 1968 and those who participated in the 1968 Olypics in Mexico City. The Breakfast will also honor the 1968 Lightweight Crew - the Winners of the JOBE Cup - as the top Eastern Rowing Team. The 1968 Crew Teams will have a special recognition ceremony for their legendary coach, Ted Nash, who will attend. This event will honor the undefeated Women's Basketball team and will honor and recognize all 1968 Athletes who participated in Men's and Women's Athletics, with particular honors for athletes who gained National recognition. 1968 will also honor current coaches and those former coaches who are able to attend the breakfast. It will also feature an open microphone conversation about Penn Athletics - as 1968 Athletes and Coaches share stories and anecdotes.

10:45-11:45 AM: Conversation with President Amy Gutmann
Join President Amy Gutmann for her annual State of the University report. There will be an opportunity for questions.

12:00-3:00 PM: Parade of Classes and Picnic

Meet at the Castor Plaza at 37th Street & Locust Walk for the Parade procession to College Green. Golf Carts available for those who do not choose to walk.

Lunch, music, and photo booths in 1968's exclusive party tent.

7 -11 PM: Our 50th Reunion Gala Celebrating at the Barnes Museum
Join Class President Alex Conroy and Honorary 50th Reunion Chairmen, Michael Crow, David Montgomery, Larry Nussdorf and Gail Petty Riepe to party at the world-renowned Barnes Foundation Museum. Don't miss this once in a lifetime celebration! All guests will have access to the entire Barnes Museum and its galleries throughout the evening (a $25 value, included in every ticket). Full bar. Fabulous Stephen STARR catering & hors d’oeuvres, a superb dinner, ending with elegant desserts. Enjoy music for listening and for dancing. Sunday, May 13th


9-10 AM: Dedication of the Class of 1968 Legacy Garden Project
Classes of 1968 and 2018 will cut the ribbon at the Class of 1968 Legacy Garden. The Legacy Garden Project is chaired by Fran Sheely and Diane Holsenbeck, together with Gift Chairs, Doug Cox and Sidney Rodbell. The dedication will include recognition of all 1968 donors. The Class of 2018 will join 1968 to bury the 1968-2018 Time Capsule which will include items chosen by both 1968 and 2018. The capsule will be opened in 2068 at 1028 50th reunion. All 1968 donors’ names and a Memorial list will also be included. Enjoy a classical string quartet and the new garden ambiance, at the entrance to College Green, adjacent to Van Pelt Library, a location central to 1968 Penn experience.

10-11:30 AM: Reminiscence and Reflection Champagne Breakfast
Drink a Toast to Dear Old Penn and to our classmates. Be a part of the memorial tribute. The Penn Glee Club and a pianist will perform. Open to Class of 1968 and their guests only. Chaired by Jim Colins & Phyllis Rodbell.

Noon-1:30 PM - Tour the Botanical Beauty of Penn
Join the 1968 “Cherry Tree tour led by Penn leading landscape architects through Penn urban campus, which was just named the nation newest arboretum.

Noon-1:30 PM: Afternoon & Evening at Leisure
Sign up for Golf, reserve a squash court or visit the city’s newest Museum—The Philadelphia Revolutionary War Museum. Don’t go home yet. More information on local activities will follow. Catch up with friends. The 50th Reunion won’t come again. Enjoy every moment.

Monday, May 14th


8:00 AM-1:00 PM: Commencement - Class of ‘68 March in the Academic Procession
Join members of the Class of 1968 for the Commencement Parade. 50th Reunion Class is invited to march en masse, caps and gowns included, in the joyous procession with the graduating students from Locust Walk to Franklin Field. Enter Franklin Field behind the 1968 Flag, with Penn's President, Trustees, Faculty and thousands of happy graduates. Robin and continental breakfast precede starting at 8 AM. The procession across campus begins at 9 AM with the ceremony beginning at 10:15 AM. Rain or shine. A casual luncheon will follow Commencement in Sweeten Alumni House.
