Q1. What’s your one sentence bio?
Chika Chukudebelu is the Director of Original Programming – Scripted at BET Networks, a Top 20 cable network, where she is responsible for shaping creative content for the network’s slate of scripted television series.
Q2.What was your experience as a student of color at Penn?
I developed what's grown into lifelong friendships at Penn. Places like DuBois College House and organizations like, The Inspiration, helped me to find a network of support and outlets for creative expression that helped me balance my experience as a Wharton student.
Q3. What activities were you involved in as a student?
I was a member of the Penn African Students Association and The Inspiration.
Q4.JBS celebrates the history of diversity at Penn. Why is that important to you?
The diversity of our experiences makes us more well-informed citizens. It allows us to more authentically connect with people from all walks of life. This country is not a monolith and our differences are part of the fabric that make this world fascinating. Who wouldn't want to celebrate that?
Q5. What excites you about Penn now?
I’m looking forward to becoming re-engaged with Penn as a JBS member.
Q6. How would you encourage alumni to get engaged or re-engage with Penn?
Homecoming is always a fun weekend to come back. I've heard a lot of amazing things about Penn Spectrum and am looking forward to possibly attending this year. Attending alumni events in your local city is also always an easy way to plug in.
