Accompanied by expert naturalists in outfitted Toyota Land Cruisers, venture with a small group of travelers into the vast and varied terrain of East Africa. Faculty Host

Tim Linksvayer

Tim Linksvayer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology. Linksvayer received a BA in Biology from Carleton College (1998) and a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from Indiana University (2005). He studies the evolution and genetic basis of social behavior using ants, honey bees, and social spiders as model systems. His research is supported by the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Agriculture, and the National Institutes of Health.

Emilie LaRosa

Emilie C. K. LaRosa is the Assistant Director of Penn Alumni Travel and Education. She received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Notre Dame and an M.A. in Art History from the George Washington University. She has hosted numerous Penn Alumni Travel trips across five continents, most recently to Egypt, Peru, and South Africa. In addition to her travel expertise, Emilie has interests in: art and architecture, Pre-Columbian and medieval history, photography, and the perfect latte. She looks forward to making this an unforgettable journey for Penn alumni and friends.
