This is a voyage to remote lands of extraordinary beauty and abundant wildlife. With more glaciers than Alaska and more fjords than Norway, Chile is a natural wonderland. We will cruise Chile's emerald Patagonian waterways aboard Corinthian II, where the awesome Andes drop sharply to the sea to form fjords and glaciers of stunning beauty. One of the highlights of the voyage will be the ship's passage through the narrow Kirke Channel, only 150 feet wide, that leads to Puerto Natales, beautifully situated on a tranquil fjord, and from there, the excursion to famed Torres del Paine National Park, for sure one of South America's most spectacular sites and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The remote Falklands, which consist of two main islands that are surrounded by some 700 smaller ones, lie about 350 miles from South America and are the habitat of a remarkable concentration of wildlife. Over 219 species of birds have been recorded in the archipelago, including several endemic species. Rockhopper, Gentoo and Magellanic Penguins, albatross, elephant seals, and other animals are in abundance, and Orca whales cruise along the coast. No less impressive are the islands' landscapes -- rolling moorlands of tussock grass and sheer cliffs dropping to the sea. Join us on a voyage to a natural paradise.
