"With the excitement and energy of the Olympic Games in Beijing, now is the time to join this exclusive Penn trip to China! I traveled with a Penn group to China in the fall of 2006 with China Advocates. We saw the "bird's nest" being built, but were also treated to visiting the many ancient wonders of this fascinating country. This is a trip you will remember for years to come!"

Our exciting exploration of the Middle Kingdom includes all the classical highlights: in Beijing, the Great Wall and Forbidden City; in Xian, the terracotta warriors; in Chongqing, the General Stilwell's Museum - which document the U.S. effort in China during WWII; in Dazu, view the massive Sleeping Buddha and many old sculptures and carvings. Board the Victoria cruise ship for a memorable cruise down the Yangzi River to see the breathtaking Three Gorges and the engineering feat - the Three Gorges Dam construction site. Our last stop is Shanghai, China's most European-influenced city, with its colonial buildings on the Bund, world-class museums, meticulous gardens, and bustling life along the Huangpu River. Post-progam options: Huang Mountains or Guilin.
