Discover the best of Tanzania's safari excursions combined with several days of relaxation on the white sand beaches of the exotic spice island of Zanzibar. Visit some of the richest and most unspoiled wildlife areas in the world, including Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. In these renowned parks, we will see the raw exuberance of Tanzania's wildlife amid an incredible diversity of landscapes. View lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, cape buffalo and more. Switch gears and relax on the palm-fringed beaches of Zanzibar and enjoy optional spice plantation tours and snorkeling excursions.

Come early and climb Mount Kilimanjaro with us on an optional pre-trip extension! At 19,340 feet, Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak and the highest stand-alone mountain in the world. A coterie of guides, porters and cooks will be our support team as we climb to the "roof of Africa."

Trip Highlights:

Go on game drives in Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the largest unbroken caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater.

Visit the Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis or "Handy Man." Homo habilis is regarded as one of mankind's first steps on the ladder of human evolution.

While in the Serengeti, enjoy lectures by the Serengeti Lion Project, a program that tracks all of the prides in the Serengeti and maintains demographic records on every lion in their study area, and the Frankfurt Zoological Society, an international conservation organization that sponsors research projects in the Serengeti.

Spend time in a local Masai village. Enjoy a Masai beading workshop and open discussion with a local Masai chief and one of his wives.

Relax on the exotic spice island of Zanzibar and marvel at its unique architecture, crystal blue waters, and spice plantations.
