*Please note: you must present your Alumni Weekend badge upon arrival of all events during Alumni Weekend. You can pick up your badge at Main Registration, located behind Sweeten Alumni House (3533 Locust Walk.) Please enter via Spruce Street or Walnut Street and 36th Street.

 

Kick off the weekend by meeting classmates at the all-alumni party, Franklin Fest. Take a stroll down Locust Walk during the Parade of Classes to the Alumni Picnic, join a student-led tour to see what's new around campus, attend a class panel discussion, raise a toast to Dear Old Penn at your reunion celebration, and enjoy performances by student performing arts groups at the Penn Spectrum showcase. Close out the weekend at the all-alumni brunch and memorial service on Sunday.

268th Commencement Ceremony Celebrating the Class of 2024

Siddhartha Mukherjee, Honorary Doctor of Sciences and 2024 Commencement Speaker
Physician, researcher, and best-selling author
Siddhartha Mukherjee is an associate professor of medicine at Columbia University and an oncologist at the university’s medical center. He is best known as the Pulitzer-winning author of “The Emperor of All Maladies” (2011), along with “The Gene: An Intimate History” (2016), and “The Song of the Cell” (2022)—a trilogy of books that has contributed to the public discourse on human health, medicine, and science. A pioneering medical scholar, Mukherjee has conducted groundbreaking studies into the composition and behavior of cancer cells that have pushed the boundaries of modern medicine. His innovative research signals a paradigm shift in cancer pathology and has enabled the development of treatments that reach beyond current pharmaceutical models toward new biological and cellular therapies.
