The Association of Alumnae (AofA), organized in 1912, is one of the constituent organizations of Penn Alumni. Every person who identifies as a woman becomes a member of the AofA upon receiving an undergraduate or graduate degree from the University. The purpose of the AofA is to strengthen the relationship between the University of Pennsylvania and its alumni and to promote the interests and welfare of the University in areas of concern to those who identify as women. An active and diverse group of officers, a fifteen-member Board of Directors, and various school and club representatives meet regularly to plan special events, to provide a forum for the discussion of policies and activities, and to uphold the broader mission of the University. The AofA welcomes the support of all Penn alumni.
The AofA honors lived experiences and recognizes that efforts to promote gender equity are stronger when all identities are participating in the conversation. Therefore, all identities of University of Pennsylvania alumni who wish to contribute to the AofA’s efforts to promote and support those who identify as women of the University of Pennsylvania are invited to do so.
