Course Description
Implant dentistry is a predictable method for the replacement of missing teeth. However, long-term success of implant dentistry is becoming questionable with the increased number of implant failures and complications. The aim of this presentation is to discuss possible advantages, disadvantages, and realistic short- and long-term expectations of the current options available for tooth replacement with dental implants and how dental treatment may promote long-term dental implant stability.

Educational Objectives
  • Etiologic factors associated with peri-implant disease
  • Treatment options for implant complications
  • Rationale for saving teeth or postponing exodontia
