Allison Weiss, C'93
After spending eight years entrenched in the New York
City public relations grind, Allison Weiss was ready
for a change of both scenery and lifestyle. The PR veteran
opened WeissPR, Inc. in Miami Beach in May 2001, and
has steadily been increasing her South Florida client
base and presence ever since.
WeissPR works with clients to create a tailored corporate
strategic plan while incorporating consistent and effective
communications and actions in accordance with the clients'
individual and specific needs. The company specializes
in the entertainment and celebrity industry, having
done events with comedian Bill Cosby, supermodels Kate
Moss and Naomi Campbell, and world-renowned opera singer
Placido Domingo.

In the year-and-a-half since WeissPR opened its doors
on South Beach, the company has built relationships
and worked with some of the area's biggest names. Ms.
Weiss has worked with the Florida Marlins and arranged
for team president David Sampson to meet President George
W. Bush at the 2002 Cuban Independence Day event. She
previously worked with President Bush and the White
House for the White House Black Music Month celebration,
having been charged with inviting music industry leaders
and celebrities to attend the event. Ms. Weiss is also
currently assisting on Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay
Fiedler's Reach for the Stars Foundation's "Stars 4
Stars Weekend," bringing in celebrities such as actors
Simon Rex and Kyle MacLachlan, Creed lead singer Scott
Stapp, and U.S. Olympic gymnast gold medallist Kerri
Shrug. She is working on the Forbes charity event in
Palm Beach in March, the Highlands Dinner Cruise.
"What sets WeissPR apart from other public relations
and marketing firms in South Florida is our ability
to create comprehensive, powerful and influential image
branding campaigns," says Ms. Weiss, president of WeissPR.
"In the short time my firm has been in South Florida,
I have already worked on some high-profile projects,
and now I look forward to getting involved with more
organizations and building a strong presence in the
area. The lifestyle and atmosphere are different from
New York City, but I am enjoying it immensely."
WeissPR currently serves clients in Miami, Palm Beach,
Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and Beverly
Hills. Services include special events, public relations,
image branding, development, enhancement and/or repositioning,
product placement, marketing, consulting and unparalleled
networking opportunities.
Ms. Weiss serves on the Board of Overseers at the University
of Pennsylvania and is the youngest Overseer in school
history. She has been a guest lecturer at the University
of Miami for its Introduction to Public Relations course.
WeissPR is a member of both the Miami and national chapters
of the Public Relations Society of America.
