What is the Alumni Award of Merit Gala?
The Alumni Award of Merit Gala, sponsored by Penn Alumni, is a celebration of Penn's most passionate and dedicated alumni volunteers. These awards are given for outstanding service to the University of Pennsylvania. The Alumni Award of Merit and Young Alumni recipients are chosen by Penn Alumni's Awards & Resolutions Committee, which is comprised of former winners. The Club Award recipient is chosen by the Global Alumni Network Advisory Board. The Class Award recipients are chosen by the Alumni Class Leadership Council.

What is the format of the dinner and dessert reception?
In order to make this an all inclusive event and provide the opportunity for award recipients and guests to mingle, there will not be a formal seated dinner. The dinner reception will feature a variety of heavy hor d'ouevres and filling food options, including vegetarian items.

Who should attend?
The Gala is open to the whole Penn community — alumni, family, students, faculty, staff and friends.

How do I register?
Register for the Gala online through the Homecoming registration site. Enter the number of guests who will be attending in the box next to the event name, and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation email once your registration is complete.

Do I need to register in advance?
While advance registration is preferred, walk-ons are welcome at the Gala.

What is the dress code?
The Gala dress code is black-tie optional, with award recipients and presenters generally opting to wear black-tie. Most guests opt to wear business or cocktail attire.

Are there handicap accessible accommodations?
Yes, the handicapped accessible entrance to Annenberg Center is located between the Center and the Annenberg School, just off of Walnut Street at the bottom of the steps leading up to Annenberg Plaza.

Is there off-street parking available?
Parking will be available in Lot 30, located at the corner of 38th and Walnut Streets. There will be no valet parking for this event given the convenient proximity of this lot to the Annenberg Center.
