Learn how Penn GSE expands educational access and opportunity, fosters new knowledge, and develops transformational teachers and leaders through research and innovation. This stimulating conversation will be followed by engaging Q&A and is limited to 50 participants.

Comedy & Catharsis
It's time to embrace your inner comedian (everyone has one!). Join Lesley Wolff, C'93 to learn how you can use comedy to foster positive emotions and navigate difficult times. This session is all about finding your point of view and understanding your personal brand so you can take center stage in your own life; it is limited to 20 participants.

The Art of Negotiation
We negotiate every day. Whether it’s setting boundaries at work, making plans with our family members, or writing a pros and cons list to make a decision, we engage in negotiation. Learn how you can use the power of connection to negotiate fearlessly to achieve your goals in your personal and professional life. This session is limited to 20 participants.

Dance it Out
Learn how you can use the power of dance, specifically hip hop, cultural, and swing dance, to get energized, stay healthy, and relieve stress. During this session, you will learn three dance combinations from Penn’s premier dance groups and industry experts. Get ready to dance outside of your comfort zone! This session is limited to 75 participants. This session is co-sponsored by Penn Arts Live and Platt Student Performing Arts House.

Kira Brizill is a senior In the College of Arts & Sciences studying Chemistry. She has been dancing primarily hip hop for 10+ years and joined Strictly Funk during her freshman year. She is currently serving as Chair of Strictly Funk and is also a member of Onda Latina.

 

Erin Hayes is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying physics and math. She is deeply dedicated to the arts on campus, as shown through her involvement in Arts House Dance Company, Penn Live Arts Executive & Artistic Director’s Student Advisory Council, and the annual Emily Dance Dance Benefit show. In addition, Erin serves as the Chair of the Dance Arts Council, overseeing twelve amazing student run dance groups on Penn's campus and fostering community among the members of these groups.

Cassy Ingersoll is a senior In the College of Arts & Sciences studying Health and Societies with a concentration in Health Policy and Law. She’s been dancing since I was 2 years old and competitively since I was 6. She has trained with a variety of professional choreographers and dancers and joined Strictly Funk during the beginning of her freshman year. She is currently serving on board as a Co-Producer.

 

Lynn Jerath has over 25 years of experience in institutional and entrepreneurial real estate investment and runs her own private equity and advisory firm. During her career, Lynn has completed $10 billion in transactions. Part of her company’s focus is improving the situations of people living in the country’s most profoundly disinvested communities. Prior to founding Citrine, Lynn worked at GEM Realty Capital, The Carlyle Group and Goldman Sachs (The Whitehall Funds). She is a Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Endowment Investment Board, Advisory Board member of Penn’s Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, member of the Trustees Council of Penn Women, and has endowed an undergraduate scholarship. She graduated magna cum laude from Wharton in 1995. While at Penn, Lynn performed Bharat Natyam, a classical Indian dance form, bhangra, and other Indian dances. She also taught a Bharat Natyam dance class. Lynn lives in Chicago. Her oldest son Amar is currently a sophomore at the Wharton School.

Laurie McCall (she/her) is a student affairs professional working in University Life at the University of Pennsylvania. She started at Penn as Assistant Director of New Student Orientation. After supporting several initiatives at Penn, in 2013, she became Director of Student Performing Arts at Platt Student Performing Arts House, the position she currently holds. In her time at Platt House, Laurie has increased space options, resources, career support, and programming for the more than 60 vibrant student performing arts organizations on campus. She is a strong advocate for students, continually innovating new ways to support their creative passions on campus. She also continues to work with the Pre-Orientation programs and serves on various committees throughout Penn. Laurie enjoys her work at Penn immensely, and is thrilled to watch the student productions come to life. In addition to working at Penn, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family and pets in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.

Allison Powell graduated from Penn with a B.A. in both Economics and Psychology in 1993, and went on to complete her Juris Doctor at Fordham University in 1996. She is a freelance attorney specializing in intellectual property agreements and also manages a family interest in a commercial real estate venture. Moreover, Allison serves on the Board of Advisors of Penn Live Arts, is a Co-Chair of PennPARC NY (the Performing Arts Regional Council for Penn Alumni), is a member of the Class of 1993 Executive Board, and interviews prospective high school students applying to Penn through the Penn Alumni Interview Program. While a student at Penn, she Co-Chaired and danced in PennDance and had a seat on the Performing Arts Council (PAC). Subsequently, she has been a member of the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers and the Brooklyn Bombshell Revue. She resides in Manhattan with her husband, Thomas S. Vandever, C ’92, and their daughter, Samantha.

Divya is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying finance and OIDD in Wharton. She is trained in Classical Indian dance for 10+ years as well as lyrical for 2 years. She joined Penn Masti, Penn's co-ed Bollywood Fusion dance team, her freshman year and is currently the President. Her other involvements in the arts include Dance Chair for Penn Autism Alliance and Dischord A Capella!

 

Jennifer Weber is an Olivier and Emmy Award nominated artist. She made her West End debut as the choreographer for & Juliet (Olivier Award Nomination). Weber is the co-creator, director, and choreographer of The Hip Hop Nutcracker (Annual Tour/Emmy Nominated PBS Special). She was recently commissioned by Mikhail Baryshnikov to create Stravinsky Re-Imagined, premiering in 2022. Weber made her film debut as Choreographer for the Disney Channel Original Movie, Zombies 2 . She founded Strictly Funk while an undergrad at Penn. www.jenniferwebernyc.com


Yuwen is a senior studying Political Science (Hons) and Psychology. Outside of school, she spends her time being the president of West Philly Swingers and dancing with the wider Philadelphia swing community, though her dance journey began in ballet shoes. Yuwen is also an illustrator for T-art Magazine and loves animating in her spare time.

Siani is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Neuroscience, Hispanic Studies, and Mandarin Chinese. She has been dancing since 2019, when she joined Penn’s premier swing dancing troupe, West Philly Swingers. The main dance styles that she focuses on are Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, and West Coast Swing.
