“Take My Breath Away - Selected Respiratory Diseases in Dogs"
Megan McClosky, DVM, DACVIM; Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine
This talk will focus on common causes of coughing in dogs. We will talk about the diagnostic work-up of respiratory disease. We will also review specific respiratory conditions, especially those with breed-associations.

"Intestinal Parasites in Dogs" 
Carol Sobotyk, DVM, MSc, PhD; Assistant Professor of Clinical Parasitology
Domestic dogs are hosts for a variety of endoparasites of veterinary and public health importance, including gastrointestinal helminths and protozoa.  This talk will provide an overview of the most common gastrointestinal parasite infections in dogs.  We will focus on etiology, epidemiology, clinical signs, diagnostics, and prevention.

In this talk, we will discuss canine core and non-core vaccines as well as vaccination plans for puppies and adult dogs, focusing on the most recent AAHA guidelines.  We will also discuss adverse vaccine reactions and updates in

"Is Breeding Timing Really That Important?"
Margret Casal, DVM, MS, PhD, DECAR; Service Head and Professor of Genetics, Pediatrics & Reproduction
"She didn't take." Poor breeding timing is the most common reason for perceived infertility in female dogs. We will look at the different hormonal interactions and how we use that information to detect ovulation, the best time to breed, and accurate prediction of the whelping date.

"Hips and Elbows"
Anna Massie, DVM, DACVS; Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery
Hip and elbow dysplasia are relatively common congenital abnormalities that can lead to chronic osteoarthritis and pain in affected dogs.  This talk will focus on the development and diagnosis of these conditions.  We will discuss screening options, their interpretation, and what is known about the genetics of each disease.  Finally, we will review treatment options and prognosis for dogs affected by these conditions.
